Soucy Industriel announces a new acquisition in Rivière-du-Loup
Soucy Industriel is very pleased to announce the acquisition of Protek Hydraulique, a dynamic company in the region.

Located just in front of Soucy Industriel's head office, on rue Témiscouata, the repair shop mainly offers hydraulic, welding and machining services. The company, which has around 20 employees, is known and renowned in the region for the quality of its service and its speed of execution.

Mr. Jean-Pierre Landry, owner of Protek and welder by trade with more than 25 years of experience in the field, has chosen to partner with Soucy as he wishes to slow down a bit. The partnership, however, will continue to maintain the success of the business while looking at growth in the future.

’It’s not retirement for us yet, but the sale may allow us to slow down. In fact, Johanne and I will stay on to ensure the success of the transition, but also because we still have the desire to work and participate in the success of the company.

We have therefore chosen a partner who resembles us as much in terms of the nature of the business as our human values. Soucy Industriel quickly proved to be the most logical and promising choice for the future.''

-Jean-Pierre Landry, owner of Protek for 10 years

Soucy Industriel therefore wishes to ensure the continuity of operations and thus maintain the solid foundations that Jean-Pierre built with his team. No changes are expected in the short term; the name, logo and building will be kept as is.

Marco Kirouac, director of the manufacturing workshop at Soucy Industriel for more than 20 years, will therefore become director for the 2 workshops and Jean-Pierre will take on the role of deputy director. In addition, all jobs will be maintained, we even hope to create more!

“Jean-Pierre does not necessarily want to stop working, he is an extremely passionate and dedicated man and we feel blessed to have him join our team.''

From the start of our discussions, we quickly realized that Soucy Industriel and Protek share the same values and that there was great complementarity between our 2 organizations. We had the chance to work at Protek this summer as we needed space for a large manufacturing project. Jean-Pierre had given us the opportunity to use part of his facilities, and we recognized they have everything to preserve the complicity of our teams and the complementarity of our services.

It's super important for me the relational aspect in this kind of transaction and since the very beginning with Jean-Pierre, it's simple, it's respectful and we even take time to dream of new projects and make some jokes!

There are a lot of opportunities for hydraulics now, we will now be able to offer it to our customers and even offer it through our division in Fermont.

We are therefore simply going to combine our strengths to continue to put our employees and the customer at the heart of our priorities, by focusing on quality, efficiency and commitment thanks to extremely competent teams! "
Frédérick Soucy, owner of Soucy Industriel
